The British Press Meeting started in 1982 with the aim of allowing British-based Publishers to meet with
their international distributors.

The Original Committee members were:-

• Michael Jack (Chairman)
• Dennis Earle
• Chris Lezard
• Dick Morris
• June Fellows (Secretary)

Past Chairmen of the committee have been:-

• Michael Jack (1983 – 1987)
• Dennis Earle (1987 – 1993)
• Kelvin Taverner (1993 – 1997)
• Richard Valder (1997 – 1998)

This annual event lasts one day, and we consider the British-based delegates as ‘hosts’ who invite their overseas ‘guests’, mostly distributors. We are unfortunately not able to extend invitations to overseas publishers.

The meeting has grown in number to over 330 participants, and this number continues to increase each year.
